So Who Am I Anwyay?
OK, let's cut to the chase. Who am I, and why did I build this site anyway? And more importantly, why should you be a regular visitor? After all, you probably don't know me from a hole in the ground. All legitimate questions, that's for sure. Well, let me do my best to set your mind at ease.

First of all, let me tell you up front that I'm NOT a great golfer. I actually used to play pretty well when I was kid. That's when I had no idea what I was doing, had never heard any theories on the golf swing, and pretty much just stepped up to the ball and hacked away. Of course, over the years I've developed one of the worst cases of analysis paralysis in the history of the sport. Perhaps you can relate to my plight. :-)

At any rate, I still love to play the game, and I actually have made some strides in the last year or so. I worked pretty hard on my game last summer, and I'm actually at a point now where I can make some decent contact on a semi-regular basis. For me, that's pretty good. :-)

I'm a lifelong New Englander, which only adds to my plight. Having been born and raised in Massachusetts, our golf season really isn't that long. Well, at least mine isn't. I really don't like to play when it's less than 60 degrees. The cold weather really hurts my game, being a "feel player" and all. :-)

I've been marketing on the Internet for several years now. I've had some success with network marketing, but I got fed up with other people making the decisions on how my business should be run. I decided that I wanted to start something on my own. I've been a sports nut all my life, so I knew I wanted to do something in that area. Thus the birth of frugalgolf.com.

OK, so did I start this site to make some money? Of course I did. However, I also have this crazy idea about building a little online community of people who love sports in general, and golf in particular. As most of you know by now, my first project to achieve this end was the Fantasy Golf League that I put together. I assure you that I didn't make a dime originally on this project. However, I'm hoping that putting this league together will initiate some interaction between those that visit my site on a regular basis or subscribe to my newsletter. At least that's my goal. By the way, the Fantasy League has been a tremendous success. More than 130 teams entered for our 2005 pool!

At any rate, I'm glad you visited my site, and I hope you come back often. You really can SAVE money by shopping at my partner sites. Feel free to contact me at any time by sending me an e-mail. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

PS. Yes, I am a huge New England Patriots fan, have been a season ticket holder for 30 years, and was in New Orleans and Houston when they won their first two Superbowls. :-)

spending money, this guy's wound tighter than I am. Do you realize that he fished me out of a pond in 1957, and he still uses me to putt with in his condo? That's not yellow paint on my face, my friends. That's 50 year old pollywog pee."
